Marvin "Marv" Ralph Crummer

of Vilonia, AR

July 30, 1928 - March 18, 2026

Marvin Ralph Crummer, 97, of Vilonia, Arkansas passed away on March 18, 2026.

Marvin (Marv) Crummer was born July 30, 1928, to Ralph and Gertrude Crummer in Brawley California. Shortly after they moved to a cooler climate near the ocean, to San Clemente in Orange County, California.

He grew up in that beach town and lived much of his life there or near there. Being by the ocean most of his life he could enjoy all the amenities to sea had to offer. Besides swimming, boating, scuba diving, and fishing he found his first job as a teenager doing lifeguarding at the beach. After a brief time while he was only 14, he became alifeguard captain and spent 7 summers doing just that.

His first job was working in a gas station then later owning it. Later years he taught automotive repair and maintenance at the community college level that resulted in his final job was working for FMC, Automotive Service Division in Los Angeles. When the plant shut down Marv had his first and only experience with a ''company transfer'' and that's what brought he and his family to Conway, Arkansas in 1983.

After retirement from FMC in 1993, he and his wife Janice discovered the joy of country living in Vilonia where they could have horses, fish, hunt, and garden on their own property. Having a shared love of art, they then had time to paint and became members of several art groups.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice; a daughter, Sheri Crummer of California, a son, Donald Crummer of Missouri; stepdaughters Melody Muse and Julie Muse both of Washington State. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.

A special thank you to friends and neighbors for their prayers and help. Also, an extra special thank you to the wonderful hospice team and the nursing staff that cared for him during his last year.
