Gloria was born June 2, 1934, in Eaton, Arkansas, to Marvin and Willie Margaret (Martin) Oldham. She lived life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Gloria began her career working in the food service industry, as a certified dietitian, where her strong work ethic and caring nature were evident from the start. She later worked for the Jonesboro Sun for 17 years before continuing her journey at Westside Schools, where she worked until her retirement at the remarkable age of 76.
Gloria was a Christian and attended First NEA Assembly of God Church but grew up as Southern Baptist. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she lived each day with kindness, humility, and grace. She found boundless joy being outdoors, especially tending to her beloved garden. She enjoyed quiet moments spent doing word searches, and coloring, and her presence brought warmth to everyone around her, especially surrounded by her family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 34 years, Earl ''Dent'' Mize; a daughter, Becky Mize; a granddaughter, Rachel Easley; and a sister, Clelia Gosha.
She is survived by two sons, Denny (Anne) Mize, and William Mize; four daughters, Margaret (Jerry) Easley, Lesia (Alan) Oldman, Cecilia (Markie) Stanley, and Melinda (Jeff) West; 14 grandchildren, Denise (Chris) Fontenot, Dianne (Jordan) Carpenter, Debbie (Chris) Bertrand, Brian (Nicole) Mize, Chelsea (Matt) Barnett, Krystal Hatch, Staci (Todd) Haddick, Cyndi Pillows Redden, Sarah (Zach) Zitzelberger, Stephen (Wendy) Woodward, Emily Oldman, Stephanie (Jonathan) Duffel, Chris (Mallory) West, and Jadyn (Bret) Holder; Step grandchildren, Shana Easley (Jamie Vickers) and Derek (Adrienne) Easley along with 38 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro, with Trey Rose and Josh Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Please find comfort that your mother is in a beautiful place where there are streets of gold and beautiful flowers oh what a joy for her to meet our Lord and Savior. Although her physical body is gone she lives in all of you. You were all so blessed to have a wonderful loving mother and I know she will be smiling down on all of you and guiding you through your life. Until you meet again!❤️❤️❤️

Sending condolences to Mrs. Gloria Mize family. My mother cherished her as a friend working together at the Westside Elementary School Cafeteria. She loved her and remembers her fondly. Gets harder to get out to see old friends as we age and mom(Patti Floyd) would like to tell all her family she prays for you all. God bless you!
