James Ray Maulden, 84, of Bee Branch, Arkansas passed away Thursday, March 12th in Clinton, Arkansas. He was born February 16th, 1942, in Choctaw, Arkansas to the late Orville and Venia Wilson Maulden.

Jim grew up in the Choctaw community where he helped his family farm land before the Corps of Engineers flooded the farmland for what we now know as Greers Ferry Lake. Jim spent his time as a child picking up arrow heads and Indian relics from the freshly plowed fields.

Jim was given the nickname ''Pee Wee'' at an early age. He attended school in Clinton, Arkansas. Jim joined the United States Navy in 1959 at the age of 17, and was stationed in San Diego, California. Jim was baptized in what is known as the old rock crusher located on Harmony Meadows Ranch in Bee Branch by Reverend Jimmy Corder. He was employed as a machinist at Polyvend in Conway, Arkansas for 35 years; after its closing he worked as a machinist for Culpepper Plastics in Choctaw, Arkansas until his retirement. Jim was known by many in the community as a mechanic, repairing tractors, heavy equipment, and anything no one else could fix.

Jim is proceeded in death by his parents, daughter Vickie Lynn Maulden, stepson Audie Lynn Curbo, sisters Nancy Ellen Maulden and Betty Joan Maulden Hazelwood, brothers Jerry Clay (Dobb) Maulden and Danny Jo (Buck) Maulden, stepfather Herman Guy Henson and brother-in-law Morris Jennings.

He is survived by his wife Joy of the home, children Terry (Gammon) Clark, Lisa Hardy (Wesley Hall), James (Andrea) Maulden, Steven (April) Maulden all of Bee Branch, Arkansas; siblings Judy Jennings and Henry Maulden; sisters-in-law Sandra Maulden and Wanda Maulden; brother-in-law Carrol Hazelwood; grandchildren Tyler Hardy, Katie (Stoney) Iberg, Sara (Austin) Smith, Lane Clark, Kylie (JT) Harrell, Hannah (Barrett) Smith and Cooper Maulden; great grandchildren Rowan McNabb, Baylor Hardy, Dawson Smith, Wilder Iberg, Oakley Harrell and expected Jozie Smith.

Pallbearers are Lane Clark, Cooper Maulden, Stoney Iberg, Austin Smith, JT Harrell, and Barrett Smith.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 16th from 10:00am-11:00am at Huie Cemetery Chapel in Clinton, Arkansas with service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be in Huie Cemetery.

Jim was one of my buddies when we worked together at Polyvend in the 1970's and 1980's. Jim was a good, fair, honest man who was a great friend. Our paths took us in different directions and l've haven't seen him in several years. He was always pleasant and gentle to be around when we worked together and always had a good story to tell. Prayers and condolences to all the family from the McCormac family. 🙏 🙏 🙏
