of Mayflower, AR
September 29, 1956 - February 20, 2026
Daphne Flowers Scarbrough was born at home on a Saturday in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on September 29, 1956, delivered by her grandmother, Mollie Brown. She was the youngest child of William Harold Flowers, Sr. and Margaret Jean Flowers.
Daphne was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Frances Elizabeth Flowers; and her brothers, William Harold ''Sonny'' Flowers, Jr., Thurman Flowers, and Arthur Knight Flowers.
Daphne was soft-spoken, with an unmistakable laugh. Gentle and sweet in spirit, she carried a strong and steady faith throughout her life. She had a gift for music and served as accompanist for the award-winning Pine Bluff Zebra High School choir, traveling to the Holy Land during her high school years. She later shared that gift faithfully, playing the piano and organ for many years at Wiggins United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Daphne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning from the University of Arkansas in 1978. Later, she followed her heart into nursing, graduating from Northwest Arkansas Community College in 1999. She proudly served as a Registered Nurse at Fayetteville City Hospital for eight years, caring for elders with compassion and dedication. Her commitment to education lives on through her daughters, both of whom earned master's degrees in their fields.
A lifelong animal lover, Daphne adored her many cats and her three dogs, Dora, George, and Maisie. Her pets were family and were treated as such.
She found joy in thrifting, clearance sections, and shopping, always searching for the best deals and special treasures and never visiting a grandchild without a gift in hand. Daphne took pride in looking her best, whether for an appointment or a simple trip to the grocery store.
Above all, Daphne was a devoted mother and grandmother. She called her daughters daily, often more than once, simply to check in and make sure they were okay. Loving and faithful, she did everything she could to care for her children and ensure they felt loved.
Her sweet, gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In memory of Daphne, donations may be made to your local Humane Society.
Daphne is survived by her daughters, Mollie Frances Teas (Damon) and Margaret Joan Perry (Tyrell); her sisters, Gretchen Wiggins (John) and Stephanie Flowers; her brothers, Alfred Flowers, Sr., and Alonzo ''Lonnie'' Flowers (Betty); seven grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.

Never had the pleasure of meeting Ms Daphne but from reading her obituary it appears that her beauty and grace was phenomenal just knowing Mr Alfred Flowers Sr being kind and soft spoken I can only imagine a beautiful person and loving family

Daphne will be missed. We had fun talking about the animals, family and her jobs and shopping sprees, as well as more serious issues, at time. My love goes out to the family.

Our condolences to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you wishing you peace during this difficult time.

Growing up in Pine Bluff, Daphne was always quiet. She would run down toward our house and say "Knight, momma said get home and bring day with you" Every one knew what that meant and would all run towards our individual homes. May God grant you comfort, strength and peace during this difficult time. I am praying 🙏🏽 for the entire family.
