We are serving the family of Ava Su Gan-Wei, 82, of Little Rock, Arkansas, with all our respect.

Ava Su was a staple of the Cambus Bionic service on the University of Iowa campus and her bright personality will be missed. One of the most unique people I've ever met. Rest easy, Ava Su.

Ava Su was so wonderful, she was a regular for years at the co-op; long before I started working there. She would often call to ask about the weather forecast, along with other general questions. It was always a joy to chat with her, it was never a dull conversation. On lucky days, I'd get to watch her whack the bell across the street with her cane. I will miss her greatly, she was such a bright spirit

Ava Su was a treasure. I can see her now, smiling, clapping her hands, so enthusiastic and supportive of everyone. I spent years with her at Public Access TV in Iowa City, where I was the director for a number of years in the 90s and early 2000s. She was an avid producer, and when she wasn't in front of the camera she was chatting with people, eating her eggs (shells and all) and her ginger. Ava Su seemed eternally young--I thought she would outlive us all. I will keep her in my heart and think of her often, as I have over the years. Sweet rest, my friend.
