Bong Van Nguyen, 73, of Southside, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026.
He was born March 2, 1952 in Phan Thiet, Vietnam to Than Van Nguyen and La Thi Dang.
Bong was a hard worker who worked at GDX for 26 years and has been retired for 19 years. He was a happy go lucky, respectful man and was always very organized. He also loved to have fun, play poker, fish, have coffee in the morning with friends, and travel to Vietnam. Bong loved his garden and kept his yard and home immaculate.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Xi Thi (Tran) Nguyen of the home; three sons, Vinh Nguyen (Jamie), Vuong Nguyen (My Oanh), and Alvin Nguyen, all of Batesville; two brothers, Anh Van Nguyen and Sau Van Nguyen, both of Vietnam; five sisters, Cay Thi Nguyen, Manh Thi Nguyen, Sau Thi Nguyen, Muoi Thi Nguyen, all of Vietnam, and Thanh Thi Nguyen of Jonesboro, and three grandchildren, Ty Nguyen, Elly Nguyen, and Kydon Nguyen.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 9, 2026 from Noon until 2:00pm at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.

Xi and family I am so sorry to hear about Bong. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. My prayers are that our loving Heavenly Father will wrap you in His loving arms and give you comfort and peace. I really enjoyed the time I spent with you and your family when you first came to Batesville.

I remember years ago when Bong And Xi came to Batesville. They were sponsored by Calvary Baptist Church. I helped with the English classes. Sorry for your loss. God give you peace.
