Wade Alwyn "Al" Dalrymple, age 92, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on January 24, 1934, in El Dorado, Arkansas, he was the son of Edith Jones Dalrymple and a lifelong resident of Arkansas.

Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Day Young Herzig Dalrymple, who passed away on February 16, 2018.

He is survived by his children, Todd Alwyn Dalrymple and Robin Lee Dalrymple.

Al graduated from Pine Bluff High School and later from the University of Arkansas, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Following college, he attended the United States Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.

Al built a distinguished career as a Life and Health Insurance Agent in Little Rock, serving clients and the community for more than 50 years. His professional achievements included becoming a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and induction into the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame.

An avid outdoorsman, Al had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, particularly throughout Arkansas. He also greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Alaska. He was a member of several hunting and outdoor clubs, including the Jefferson Lake Hunting Club, Fish Lake Cypress Farms Club, and the Three Rivers Club. He was also dedicated to helping others enjoy the outdoors safely and volunteered with the Hunter Safety Program.

Al wished to express his gratitude to those who helped guide and support him throughout his early years, including Mr. Dick Hill of Little Rock, Mr. Rufus Martin of Pine Bluff, Mr. Ed Penick, Sr., and the men of Pine Bluff Fire Department Station #3.

Al will be remembered for his career, his love of the outdoors, and the many friendships he formed throughout his life. His legacy of hard work and appreciation for the natural world will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Special thanks to Al's caregiver, Kara Rhoad, who lovingly cared for Al in his home the last 2 years.  Additionally, we would like to thank Kara and her husband, Jeremy Rhoad, for lovingly caring for Al in their home the last week of his life.  Finally, many thanks to Arkansas Health/Life Touch Health for their assistance in the final week of his life.
