Genevieve Payne, age 90, of Clinton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1935, in Woolum, Arkansas, to the late Doy and Maebell Morris.
Genevieve was given the nickname ''Jump'' at an early age. She graduated from Leslie High School in Leslie, Arkansas. She lived her life as a Christian and was a member of Faith Church in Dennard, Arkansas.
Genevieve was always helping others. She opened Gen's Treasures at her home on Pine Street, and later she opened Helping Hands and Foods for Life in downtown Clinton, both of which assisted many families in the community. She loved the outdoors, camping, and fishing. She wrote poems and loved to dance, play guitar, and sing. She enjoyed puzzles, playing board games, sewing, and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Genevieve is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years, James ''JD'' Payne; one daughter, Deborah Holley; one grandson, Casey Mackey.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Bonds, Missy (Carl) Massey, Sharon Holley and Frances Waldrop; five grandchildren, Shelly (Michael) Ross, Jamie (Josh) Lind, Justin Hensley, Kailey (Matt) Moix, and Charity Wolf; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones from Lefler Estate Apartments where she resided for 24 years.
Minister Carl Thomason and Pastor Gordon Lemings will preside her service. Pallbearers are Michael Ross, Justin Hensley, Josh Lind, Matt Moix, Carl Massey and Randall Wolf. Honorary Pallbearers are Kaydon Galeazzi, Christian Mackey, Braden Ross and Clay Ross.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 25, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, JD Payne, at Colony Church of Christ in Morganton, Arkansas.
